Punjab Nigehban Ramzan Package 2026: Rs 45,000 Income Limit, Rs 10,000 Rashan Card and Complete Relief Plan

Punjab Nigehban Ramzan Package

The Punjab Nigehban Ramzan Package Government has unveiled a comprehensive and people-focused relief initiative for the holy month of Ramzan under the Punjab Nigehban Ramzan Package 2026. This year’s program has been expanded significantly to counter inflation, rising food prices, and economic pressure on low-income households. With a clearly defined income threshold, increased financial assistance, and modern delivery mechanisms, the package aims to provide dignified and transparent support to millions of deserving families across Punjab.

Clear Eligibility Rule for Ramzan Relief 2026

One of the most important announcements under the Nigehban Ramzan Package 2026 is the fixed monthly income limit of Rs 45,000. Families earning below this amount are eligible for assistance during Ramzan. This clear benchmark helps ensure that relief reaches genuinely deserving households rather than being misused.

Priority is given to families already recorded in the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER), daily wage earners, labourers, sanitation workers, widows, special persons, and families struggling due to inflation.

Rs 47 Billion Budget to Support Millions

For Ramzan 2026, the Punjab Government has allocated a massive Rs 47 billion budget for this relief initiative. Through this allocation, the government aims to support approximately 4.2 million families across the province.

This financial commitment reflects a shift toward structured welfare planning, where data-driven targeting ensures that public funds are spent efficiently and transparently.

Direct Cash Support Through Nigehban Ramzan Cards

Instead of relying solely on traditional ration bags, the government is focusing on direct financial assistance through Nigehban Ramzan Cards. These cards allow beneficiaries to receive support without standing in long queues or facing embarrassment.

The system ensures direct transfer of funds, doorstep delivery in many areas, reduced middleman involvement, and transparent record keeping. Families meeting the income criteria will automatically qualify if their data is verified in PSER.

Maryam Nawaz Rashan Card Amount Increased to Rs 10,000

A major highlight of the 2026 relief package is the increase in the Maryam Nawaz Rashan Card amount from Rs 3,000 to Rs 10,000. This enhancement enables families to manage essential food expenses more effectively throughout Ramzan.

An estimated 1.2 to 1.4 million Rashan Card holders will benefit, including sanitation workers, labourers, miners, and workers registered under the Suthra Punjab Program. This move gives families flexibility to purchase items according to their needs rather than relying on fixed ration quantities.

Free Iftar Through Ramzan Dastarkhwan in Every Tehsil

Under the initiative titled “Nigehban Ramzan Maryam Ke Mehman Dastarkhwan”, free iftar arrangements will be made in every tehsil of Punjab.

Key features include free iftar for at least 2,000 people daily, locations in parks, mosques, and public areas, supervision by commissioners and deputy commissioners, and food quality monitoring by the Punjab Food Authority. This initiative is particularly beneficial for travellers, daily wage workers, and those without a stable income during Ramzan.

Sahulat Bazaars Converted Into Ramzan and Eid Bazaars

To control prices and provide affordable essentials, existing Sahulat Bazaars will be converted into Ramzan Bazaars five days before Ramzan and later into Eid Bazaars.

Currently, 65 Sahulat Bazaars are active in 30 districts, 15 bazaars already offer free home delivery, and around 300,000 people benefit from delivery services. The government plans to complete permanent, modern Sahulat Bazaars across Punjab by June 2026, strengthening long-term price control.

Subsidised Essential Food Items

Under the Ramzan relief plan, essential commodities such as flour, ghee, sugar, and pulses will be available at subsidised rates. A strict zero-tolerance policy has been enforced against hoarding and profiteering. Continuous market monitoring teams will ensure price stability and uninterrupted supply throughout the holy month.

PSER Survey Near Completion for Accurate Targeting

The Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER) survey plays a central role in identifying eligible families. As of early 2026, the survey is 94% complete, with remaining areas expected to finish by February 5.

The survey includes detailed household data covering income levels, family size, widows and special persons, and children and dependents. This data-driven approach ensures that assistance reaches those who truly need it.

A Broader Welfare Vision for Punjab

Beyond Ramzan relief, the Punjab Government has strengthened emergency response systems and launched multiple public welfare initiatives, including doorstep medicine delivery, field hospitals, smog mitigation measures, and cleanliness programs.

The Nigehban Ramzan Package 2026 stands as a cornerstone of this broader governance approach, focusing on dignity, transparency, and real impact rather than short-term political gains. As Ramzan approaches, this initiative is expected to provide timely relief, food security, and financial breathing space to millions of families across Punjab.
