Punjab 5th and 8th Class Board Exams 2026: Registration Dates, Schedule & Results
Punjab 5th and 8th Class Board Exams 2026: the 2026 cycle is complete, with exams in February 2026 and results declared on 31 March 2026. Punjab 5th and 8th Class Board Exams 2026 readers should not use the closed cycle dates to plan a new application, and the update below explains what to watch for next.
The Punjab 5th and 8th Class Board Exams 2026 update also notes the change of conducting body to PECTA and the November pattern for registration windows. Confirm any new date on the official site before acting, and keep the school record ready for when the next window opens.
Update 27 October 2026: The 2026 Cycle Is Complete
The 2026 cycle described in this guide is now finished. Grade 5 exams started on 9 February 2026, Grade 8 exams ran from 16 to 24 February 2026, and results for both grades were declared together on 31 March 2026. The registration window for that cycle was 3 to 15 November 2025. If you are reading this guide in late October, do not use those dates to plan a new application, because they belong to a closed cycle.
One structural change is worth knowing. These board style exams are now run by the Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority, known as PECTA, replacing the older Punjab Examination Commission structure. The exams are mandatory for government schools, while private schools are exempt. Class 8 papers covered four core subjects: Urdu, English, Mathematics and Science, while Class 5 followed the School Based Assessment model under board style supervision.
Watching for the Next Registration Window
No 2027 cycle dates have been officially announced as of 27 October 2026. History gives one useful clue: the last registration window fell in November, so the next window may fall in November again, but that is a pattern, not an announcement. Confirm any date on pec.edu.pk before acting, and do not pay a school or an agent for early registration based on a forwarded message.
Parents who missed the 2026 cycle should keep the child’s school record and birth record ready. Schools usually collect the registration details, so the first step is to ask your child’s school office, not a private coaching centre.
