Specialized Healthcare jobs are open across Punjab. Retirement is supposed to be the end of the ward round. Punjab’s health department has just written a polite letter to its retired professors saying: not yet. The Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department is inviting its retired Professors and Associate Professors, and eligible experts from the private sector, back into medical institutions across the province on contract.
No examination industry, no commission queue. An email address, an age ceiling of 65, and a list of specialties that reads like the index of a medical college. The last date is November 5. Here is who is being called back, and how.
Specialized Healthcare Jobs for Professors
The department is filling Professor and Associate Professor chairs in thirteen specialties each. The Professor list runs: Biochemistry, Cardiac Surgery, Forensic Medicine, Paediatric Surgery, Anaesthesia, Psychiatry, Pulmonology, Oncology, Plastic Surgery, Radiology, Cardiology, Paediatric Cardiology and Pathology. The Associate Professor list is near identical, with Paediatric Cardiac Surgery in place of Paediatric Surgery.
Appointments are through open competitive selection, on contract, up to a maximum age of 65 years, under the applicable service rules. Who Can Apply
Two doors stand open. The first is for retired Professors and Associate Professors of the department itself, the teachers who built these institutions and know where every ward is. The second is for eligible candidates from the private sector and from other organisations and departments. The shared ceiling is age: contracts run up to 65 years, which tells you plainly this round values judgement and teaching years over everything else on the file.
What the Ad Does Not Promise
The advertisement does not print a salary or a fixed count of chairs; the specialties are the announcement, and institutions will absorb against their needs. Any website quoting you an exact pay figure or a vacancy total for this round is inventing both.
How to Apply by Email
Applications go by email only, to jobs.shcmed@punjab.gov.pk, before November 5. Attach attested copies of your educational certificates and degrees, research papers, experience certificate, domicile and CNIC. Applications sent anywhere else are rejected, and incomplete or late applications are not entertained. Only shortlisted candidates are called for interview, and no TA/DA is paid. Why Punjab Is Calling Its Teachers Back
New medical colleges are easier to announce than to staff. A professor of forensic medicine or paediatric cardiology takes thirty years to make, and no advertisement can manufacture one by spring. This round is the department admitting that arithmetic in public. If you are one of the people it describes, the province is not doing you a favour by calling. It is asking one.
