Tourism Department Jobs: 8 SMU Posts in Lahore with Salaries up to Rs 950,000
Some government job ads are worth reading twice, and the tourism department jobs announced this week are one of them. The Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Department Punjab has opened eight senior project positions in its Strategic Management Unit in Lahore, and the top post pays Rs 950,000 a month. The advertisement appeared in The Express Tribune on November 4, and applications are being taken online only.
Every post is project based, running up to December 31, 2027, extendable by one year. A Punjab domicile is compulsory, and no hard copy application will be accepted. If your background is in engineering, finance, law or project management, this is one of the best paid public sector openings of the season.
Tourism Department Jobs and the 8 Posts on Offer
The tourism department jobs sit inside the Strategic Management Unit, the team that plans and delivers the department’s development projects. The eight posts are Team Lead, Lead Project Management, Lead Finance & Investment, Senior Civil Engineer, Legal and Regulatory Specialist, PPP Expert, Procurement Expert and Contract Management Expert. Each post has exactly one seat, and all eight are based in Lahore.
These are leadership and specialist roles, not entry level jobs. It is hiring people who can run tourism projects, structure partnerships and keep contracts clean. Only experience gained after the required qualification will count, so fresh graduates should not apply. Candidates for similar project roles can also check the PPMU jobs guide on our site, which follows the same Punjab Job Portal process.

Salary, Grade and Age Limit for Each Post
The three lead posts sit on PPS-11. The Team Lead earns Rs 950,000 per month with an age limit of 38 to 60 years. Lead Project Management pays Rs 850,000 for candidates aged 40 to 53, and Lead Finance & Investment pays Rs 750,000 for ages 40 to 50. These are project pay scales, so the money is well above regular government grades.
The remaining five posts are on PPS-9. The Senior Civil Engineer and the Legal and Regulatory Specialist each pay Rs 437,500 a month, with age limits of 31 to 45 and 35 to 45 years. The PPP Expert, Procurement Expert and Contract Management Expert each pay Rs 400,000 a month, open to professionals aged 25 to 38 years.
Who Can Apply for These Posts
The Team Lead needs a Master degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or Urban Planning, or a Bachelor degree in the same disciplines. The two other lead posts need an MS or Master degree with 16 years of education in fields like Management, Business Administration, Development Studies, Tourism Management, Heritage Management, Economics or Finance.
The Senior Civil Engineer must hold a BSc or BS in Civil Engineering with PEC registration. The Legal and Regulatory Specialist needs an LLB or LLM. The three expert posts ask for a minimum of 16 years of education in a relevant field such as Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Public Policy, Project Management or Law. Whatever the post, a valid Punjab domicile is compulsory for everyone.

How to Apply Online Before November 20
Applications are submitted online through the Punjab Job Portal at jobs.punjab.gov.pk. Find the Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Department advertisement for the Strategic Management Unit, open the post you qualify for, and submit the form before the closing date. The last date for online applications is November 20, 2026.
Do not courier or hand deliver anything. The advertisement states plainly that no hard copy will be accepted, and no TA or DA will be paid for the test or interview. The department’s office address, Section Officer (Admn), Tourism, Archaeology & Museums Department, 8th Floor, Tower 2, New Civil Secretariat, Lahore, is given for correspondence, not for dropping off applications.
Why the Tourism Department Is Hiring Specialists
Punjab is putting real money into tourism, heritage sites and visitor infrastructure, and projects of that size need engineers, finance leads and contract specialists who can deliver on schedule. Tourism is also one of the sectors named in the provincial government’s new export and jobs strategy, which our Punjab PIVOT Plan guide explains in detail.
The pay matches senior private sector roles, and the contract runs to the end of 2027 with an extension possible. Apply early, because single seat posts at this level attract strong competition.
